With a progressive and ‘curious mind’ culture, technology was key to the new fitout of the BVN Sydney studio. Awarded the Workplace Design Award (2019 Australian Interior Design Awards) for its agile and future-focused design, the studio is now equipped with a dedicated, digital fabrication workshop area, (accommodating 3D printers, a desktop 3D carving machine and a physical model making space), along with a virtual reality space/video conferencing. An innovative, high-speed data system was invented whereby power and data are delivered across the floor plate via a retractable cable (Data Boom) which is fixed to the ceiling soffit.

The team skillfully selected a stellar consultant team to execute this highly demanding technical scope, with responsibility for overseeing a number of elements including design management, approvals, technical stakeholder liaison and contractor selection. All achieved on budget and time with all works undertaken while the studio was fully occupied.
